Winston Beckett

It is with great sadness that the family of Winston “Winnie” Beckett announce his passing.  Winnie passed away peacefully on March 10, 2022, in his 81st year, at Princess Margaret Hospital.  Winnie succumbed to complications brought on by cancer but not before a long fight.  His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile and despite the pain, Winnie stayed strong until the end.

Avid Sailor and retired General Manager (Jempak), Winnie will be lovingly remembered by his son Rick (Gail), Brother Clive (Janet), Grandchildren Greg (Ariel), Hunter (Skye), Maddy (Ty) and great grandchildren Preston and Blair.

Winston led a very full life, lived in, and visited numerous countries, spoke several languages, and was considered by many a good friend.

Winnie will be fondly remembered in a bursary, to be formed, that will provide underprivileged kids, the opportunity to learn how to sail so they may be given the opportunity to find their passion in sailing as Winnie did.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place:
