Joseph Odilon Yvon (J.O.Y) Morency, loving and beloved father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 8, 2019 at the tender age of 79.
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away". Yvon believed this to his core and appreciated every moment and every encounter that came his way.
Le Petit Prince - also Yvon's favourite book – leaves behind his devoted and loving daughter Lise.
Also left behind are Yvon Jr, Michele, 6 beautiful and accomplished grandchildren, Denise, and a huge extended family of devoted friends.
Yvon's contagious good humour brought happiness to all those who encountered him. As Maya Angelou, one of his favourite authors, wrote:
"I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
Yvon Morency Sr. touched many lives and will be remembered for the JOY he brought to all.
He went to that better place as he lived - peacefully, and with a smile on his face.
All those whose lives he touched, who loved him, cared for him and were infected by his laughter, are invited to gather to celebrate Yvon's unique gift of living each and every moment to the fullest:
