Zhizhong Cao

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Zhizhong Cao on Sunday, August 7th, 2022 in Ottawa, at the age of 89.

She will be eternally loved and sorely missed by her cherished children Helen (Yong), Dai (Queena), grandchildren, and siblings.

Zhizhong and Chengyong (predeceased husband) fell in love while pursuing medical career in college 71 years ago, she became a medical doctor and happily married for 60 years. As a pediatrician, Zhizhong was highly respected by her colleagues, loved by her patients and trusted by their families.

After retirement, she enjoyed reading and learning, and loved travelling and spending time together with family. She did her best to provide support and encouragement to her children and grandchildren.

Zhizhong was mentally strong and independent, and took care of herself until the last moment of her life. She was curious about new things, never stopped learning. She was very nice and kind-hearted, and generous in helping family, relatives, and friends.

A private family service will be held followed by cremation.
