Zofia Bulat
Zofia Bulat, 67, of West Kelowna, British Columbia, passed away at home, on September 6, 2017 after a battle with ovarian cancer.
Born on February 5, 1950 in Jakonowka, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Michal Czarniecki and Katarzyna Mil Czarniecka.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Grzegorz Bulat; two daughters, Aleksandra Bulat of Toronto, Ontario, and Katarzyna Rosinski with husband Radek and two grandchildren Vincent and Isabella of San Jose, California; and two sisters Helena Kuczynski of Gizycko, Poland and Veronika, Januszko of Sejny, Poland.
She grew up in Poland where she met her husband and had her children. She spent her early years living in Olsztyn working as a book keeper and raising her family. In 1987 she bravely set out with her children to join her husband in Canada, a foreign country whose language she did not speak; all of this to better the lives of her children and ensure them a bright future. When the family settled in Kelowna in 1994, she enjoyed being closer to nature, fishing, camping and hunting trips with her husband, gardening and cooking. Family was her passion, especially her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
The family will receive friends and family on Monday September 18, from 10 am until 11 am at St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Cultural Centre Chapel, 1280 Dundas Street West, Oakville, ON.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11 am on September 18, at St. Volodymyr Chapel officiated by Fr. Michael Loza, followed by interment shortly after at St. Volodymyr Cemetery.
