Q: What is your role at Basic Funerals?A: I'm the manager of Basic Funerals
Q: How did you end up in this position?A: Our licensed pre-planner Robin and I worked together at another company. Robin found herself growing dissatisfied with that organization and decided to leave her position. A few months later, she called me out of the blue and encouraged me to apply at Basic Funerals (where she had started working). I applied and was offered the job.
Q: What is an average day for you?A: I like to come in early in order to organize the day. Usually, I sort through all of the new calls that have come in, address outstanding items, and then start planning and coordinating all of the daily logistics. For instance, I assign staff to funeral and cremation services as well as in-person arrangements. I also line up transfers and figure out whatever else is required on a particular day.
Q: What is your favourite part of your job?A: My favourite part of the day is helping people understand all of their options while making sure that all of the information is easy to take in. I want them to know that it can be done without any hassles.
We’re family focused, not sales focused. The transparency and lack of pressure is refreshing.
