Q: Tell us a bit about yourselfA: I have been with Basic Funerals since 2010. Prior to my time with Basic Funerals I worked in the funeral industry since the early 1990’s. I enjoy movies and time with my family. I am a father to three fantastic children. I also have two wonderful Black Labs...ok..one wonderful Black Lab and his annoying sister.
Q: What is your role at Basic Funerals?A: I thoroughly enjoy being the Managing Funeral Director for Eastern Ontario. I get to work alongside some great associates and see parts of Eastern Ontario that I wouldn’t normally see while I visit families within our service area.
Q: How did you end up in this position?A: I am a graduate of Humber College’s Funeral Director’s Program. After working in a traditional funeral home for nearly two decades, Basic Funerals was a welcomed change. I value their personal and no-pressure approach with families. I am proud to represent them. Management is also wonderful with their staff. It’s so refreshing to work for someone so nice and empowering!
Q: What is an average day for you?A: I drive a lot. I visit hospitals and crematoriums. I also visit with families either at our office at Hope Cemetery or at their homes.
Q: What is your favourite part of your job?A: I love meeting new people and helping them with their final planning. I cherish the connections I’ve made with so many extraordinary people.
Basic Funerals is a company that prides itself on its transparency. I take great pride in Basic Funerals' mission to provide families with the services and products they need at an affordable and reasonable price.
