After you have made first contact with your selected funeral home and obtained an accurate quote for funeral services, the transfer of the deceased from the place of death to the funeral home is set into action. If the death occurs in the home or nursing home, the transfer will take place first due to the urgency of the matter.
If the death occurs at the hospital, facilities exist to care for the deceased for enough time to make funeral arrangements. It is ideal to finalize arrangements with the funeral home before they complete the transfer from the hospital. This way you will be able to carefully consider all of the funeral arrangement costs before making the final decision on which funeral home to choose.
