Nour Abou Khalil (widow of Miled Abou Abdallah) died peacefully on May 15 surrounded by her family. Nour was born in Lebanon in 1928, and is preceded in death by her siblings Toufik, Tanios, Adele, Marie, Saoud, and survived by her sister Najla.
Nour was the beloved mother of Taghrid (Samih Khairallah), Chadia (Izat Francis), Wafaa (Dominique Haynau), and Rouayda (Jacques Perier). She was a loving, generous and adored grandmother to Christiane Kheirallah (Ahmad Abou-Nassif), Patricia Kheirallah, Bachir Francis, Nadime Francis (Emilie Wirbel), Rémy Haynau (Vanessa Lopes-Perera), Maud Haynau (Arnaud Boucheron), and Camille Haynau (Gabriel Charki). Her great-grandchildren, Elena, Chloe, Eva, Arthur, Nora, and Louis were lucky to have known her.
Nour was the matriarch of her family and was loved and respected by her many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was a courageous, strong woman who had friends in every country she resided in. She will be dearly missed.
A funeral will be held at Saint Charbel Maronite Church, 245 Donald St., on Friday May 19th at 11 am. Interment will follow at Hope Cemetery, 4660 Bank St., Gloucester.
In lieu of flowers, for those wishing, donations can be made to Bruyère Hospital (Bruyere.org/donate) or to Saint Charbel Church.
