When a family chooses to not view their loved one and proceed directly to cremation, they still have to select a casket or cremation container.
Ever wonder why a casket or cremation container is necessary for a cremation?
A safe and appropriate container that meets the requirements of the crematorium is mandatory. First of all, the container shelters and protects the deceased during the transfer process from our facilities to the crematorium. A container also ensures our colleagues work in a safe and dignified manner when handling human remains. Secondly, crematorium operators function under different licensing from our associates in the field of transfer and funeral services. Crematorium operators are not licensed to handle human remains directly, hence the need for a container.
How does Basic Funerals do it differently?
Selecting a casket can be an emotionally trying time for a family. As a courtesy, we offer a complimentary cardboard cremation container
for those families wishing to arrange for a direct cremation. Cardboard cremation containers are also the most environmentally-friendly choice for families. There is no need to waste resources and trees when it is not entirely necessary. Cardboard cremation containers are dignified and practical. Families are always welcome to include personal items such as blankets, clothing, letters or sentimental items in the cremation container to accompany their loved one if they wish.
We are here to offer comfort and peace of mind to families during what can be a trying time.
